Hi, I am new to this forum. I was hoping maybe some other parents out there could give me their opinions on the drug Trihexyphenidyl (also known as Artane). It has been suggested for my 5 year old daughter with CP to help with dystonia in both her arms. Obviously there are a lot of scary side effects and I was wondering if anyone out there has a child who has been or is on this medication.

My daughter has been taking this medicatioin, along with siment, for about 9 months now. It has help her with claming her movements, along with giving her better hand control. I have not had any bad side affects.

Hi, My daughter was 11 when she started taking this. If you are concerned with this med. I know quite a few younger children that are taking simet for the same reasons. My daughter takes both. Talk to your doctor about simet.
